Queer Writing Classes
A series of masterclasses led by Tom Marshman, addressing themes of urban renewal, displaced communities, and personal stories. The programe will involve journalists, authors, prize-winners, publishers and performers leading a series 5 x2 hour masterclasses in Bristol. Mentors: Travis Alabanza: a writer, poet, theatre maker and performer; Karen Mcleod: a writer, performer and creative writing tutor who has won the Betty Trask Award and was shortlisted for the Best First Novel Award; Paul Burston: an author and a journalist from Wales, he edited, the LGBT section of Time Out and founded the Polari Prize; Joelle Taylor: The author of 4 collections of poetry. Winner of the 2021 TS Elliot Prize &the 2022 Polari Book Prize for LGBT authors; Tom Marshman: Performer, theatre maker and writer.
